Alberta Snowboarding is the governing body for snowboard clubs and riders in Alberta. The clubs in our province have programs for all ages, usually starting at the age of 6. Each snowboard club has a focus on the discipline they develop their athletes in, once they are at the Train to Train stage (12+). The disciplines in Snowboarding are: Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS), Snowboard Cross (SBX), Slopestyle (SBS) and Half Pipe (HP). The PGS and SBX are considered Speed disciplines, time is an important factor in these disciplines. The SBS and HP are considered freestyle sports and the judges decide best execution and creativity in order to rank the athletes at a competition.
If you are interested in joining one of the clubs, please go to the club page.
